| Just 45 minutes north of Christchurch, Waipara
Valley is one of the newest wine regions of New Zealand, producing Award
winning wines including Pinot Noir and Riesling. Known for dry and sunny
weather, this area is also enriched with its limestone soils perfect for
the production of wines with flavors and characters. Leaving Christchurch,
we travel north via Highway one through pastoral sheep farmland of North
Canterbury to arrive at Waipara Valley with its characteristic rolling
hills with vast numbers of vine yards on both sides of the road. You
will visit leading wineries; Waipara Springs, Mud House and Pegasus Bay for
wine tasting, and also visit the Athena Olive Grove orchard.
